2006: Cooking, eating and sharing

Title

2006: Cooking, eating and sharing

Description

This project was developed to work with the Sudanese and Sierra Leone Communities in order to develop stronger social connections and increase access to African food stuffs. Both women’s and young men’s groups were held over the year where they could share and learn knowledge of traditional cooking and nutrition. There were several trips to Sydney to get foodstuffs. The young men’s groups also participated in ‘regular sessions using Families in Cultural transition (FICT) to build their skills in making cultural transitions’.
